Everton vs Aston Villa by Marcelino

Everton have been a little inconsistent this season, but they are sitting comfortably in 9th place. They have a few injuries - Pienaar, Hibbert, Baines, Oviedo and some less regular players. They have been playing well recently. Technically, you could say they did very well this season because their 3 losses were against top teams, Man City Man United and Arsenal. They also drew against Liverpool and beat Chelsea. However, the problem with the is that they draw games they should win. Outside of those losses, they won 4, but they drew 5 of their 9 games.

Aston Villa had a very poor start of the league and after a winning start, they got just 1 point in 10 games, which led to the sacking of the manager Tim Sherwood. Remi Garde came in before their latest match at home to Man City. Aston Villa managed to get a draw from that game and defended well, and got a little lucky to keep a clean sheet, but they only allowed Man City just 3 shots on target.

I think the odds available for Everton win of 1.57 are too small. Aston Villa managed to get 4 draws in their last 6 visits to Everton (although losing the last 2). With a new manager, Aston Villa seem to have turned a corner and defended and played much better than usual. The international break may play in their favour too, as Everton had more players away while Aston Villa's new manager had a chance to get organised for this match. So I think Aston Villa can get a good result here. Everton may be too strong to beat, as they only lost to top 4 sides this season, but Everton did draw quite a lot of games - 5 of 12 overall, so a draw at good odds is my pick!pin

Risky, Villa may make the surprise...

I totally agree with the surprise! Marcelino what do you think about over 2.5?

I'm not sure it's a good bet! Villa may focus on a solid defence like they did against Man City and keep it low scoring like 0-0 or 1-1 or a late winner for Everton 1-0.. but I don't know, it could go either way
