Monterrey vs Puebla by Garc1

12th round of Mexican Apertura between Monterrey and Puebla.

Monterrey as a new stadium since august, Benfica played there for Eusebio cup and at the same time joined the celebrations for the opening of the new stadium .

Monterrey won that game by 3-0, a pre-season game, played in a very high altitude, with very high temperature and humidity so the cup stayed in Mexico.

I watched the game of course and Monterrey seemed to be a very strong side for Mexican football, in my opinion, but this team wouldn´t win Benfica at this point.

Now for the game in question, Monterrey comes in the 11th position , with 15 points due to 4 wins -3 draws-4 defeats, nothing spectacular unless the fact that at home they have 2 wins and 3 draws, no defeats yet, and scored 12 goals ,pretty good offensive rate at home and scored in every game so far.

Puebla comes in the 7th position with 18 points, due to 6 wins-0 draws-5 defeats. Outside they have 1 win-3 defeats, and scored 17 goals so far and conceded 16.

The thing that caught my attention is the fact that they score only 1 goal as a visitor, and lose only by one goal difference, so the strategy is clear for them, is to defend well, concede few and try to win, something that is not working after 11 games.

Monterrey as drew 5 in 8 home games, and Puebla lost 4 way games by the minimal margin, so to understand what the Wright choice is not easy.

I think that they both have quality to score as they done in the Past games, but for me , the draw is a very possible outcome.

So my choice goes for under 2,5 goals because in the last 4 way games Puebla have 75% of under 2,5 goals and Monterrey has 5 draws in the last 8 games, the value is considerable for me.
