Bromley vs Barrow by Hassy
High-flying Bromley take on mid-table Barrow at the Courage Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the hosts bounced back with a midweek win away at Welling United which followed a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tranmere Rovers in the previous match.
Bromley’s 2-1 win at Welling United has helped Bromley into the early play-off reckoning as they sit in fifth spot with a strong home record of 5-1-1 15/6 and they’ve won their last four matches on the trot on home turf with wins over Gateshead, Macclesfield Town, Kidderminster and Chester. Bromley rise to prominence is so much that they have been chosen to be live on BT Sport next month!
They’ve scored the most goals in the National League and were unbeaten throughout September and I have no doubts that had they not had a bad start to the season they would definitely have been closer to the top of the table. The Ravens are in fine nick having found the net 31 times so far this campaign, aided by 12-goal striker Moses Emmanuel who is too good for this level.
Barrow are 12th in the table but aren’t far behind fifth-placed Bromley with a five-point deficit – an indication of how tight the National League is this season. But they’ve not yet managed to win consecutive games. A mid-week win at home to Chester suggests the Bluebirds could drop points in tomorrow’s trip to south London and, considering Bromley’s recent form, Bromley to win is a sound selection. I have said it before in my previews that if Barrow played all their games at home then I have no doubt that would be close to the title but the fact is their away form is as bad as they home form is good!
One win in 7 away games with five defeats just isn't good enough. On the back of a tough midweek win against Chester and an extremely long trip down south I cant see anything other than a home win. So much so that I will be backing the tip with 10 units.
Such is the unknown element of this club that the DNB is at 1.70 but I cant see that lasting until kick off.
