Cabal/Farah vs Johnson/Querrey

Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey ar at the moment the most in form american couple in ATP. They have won 9 from their last 10 matches, the only one lost being the US Open semifinal against the double Grand Slam finalists this year, Murray/Peers.

Here at Tokyo they have also played 2 qualifying matches, so they have won 4 in a row this week., against excellent couples as Peya/Soares, Lopez/Mirnyi and good ones as Begemann/Sitak and Young/Monroe.

The colombians Cabal and Farah are a good couple but they are clay courts specialists. They hapen to get good wins here and there on faster surfaces, but they almost never go the distance. They've beaten the Bryan brothers here, but that doesn't mean as much as it used to mean, as the legendary brothers are in poor form lately.

In predicting this kind of match the details should make the difference.

For sure the americans ar the better skilled players, as they are top single players and they are also in good form in singles, both playing well here in Tokyo. Also I find important the fact that Steve Johnson got a spot in the main draw in Shanghai as alternate (Querrey was already on the main draw list), so he won't be interested to leave Tokyo for the singles qualifiers in the chinese Masters. So we have good reasons to believe that the americans will be focused on this doubles contest and, in this scenario, they are the best players, the most in form couple and especially the ones favoured by this hard court surface.

I like the odds given for their victory and I hope to cash them. ;)
