Paul Goldstein vs Kuznetsov by Bulan20
R.1 in Sacramento Challenger between Tommy Paul and Alex Kuznetsov.
Paul is a strong talent and have some great results from ITF and Juniors this year. Won Roland Garros for juniors and
was runner-up in US Open. He also qualified to the main tournament of US Open but lost in R.1 against Seppi. Decent serve and forehand but is lacking length in the longer rallies. Has ofc great potential but is still a bit inconsistent.
Will face another american in 28 y.o Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov hasn´t had that good of a year, but he has find his stride on HC and have some nice results here in the states. Made it to SF in Columbus beating strong players like Klein and Fratangelo. Lost to same Fratangelo in R.2 in Tiburon last week. Fratangelo is imo one of the best players at the American CH scene so no shame in that result.
Paul has a scary record but most of it is from junior and ITF, he has beaten some decent CH players over the year so have the skills necessary. Still is a big leap into seniors and right now Paul is lacking a good "lowest-standard". Showed some of that in his earlier matches here in Sacramento, dropping set against Gonzales (#842) and Kutrovsky (#330). Think Kuznetsov in the form and play he has shown will be able to win a majority of the rallies. Going with Kuznetsov in this one.
