Wrexham vs Tranmere by TFB

In this North West derby, Tranmere Rovers make the short journey south to play Wrexham in North Wales with Tranmere looking to top the league and Wrexham looking to move into a play-off spot.

Wrexham had a good start to the season by winning 5 out of their first 6 games. Since, however, they have dropped off the pace and currently have 2 wins in their last 8 matches. Their two wins were against Altrincham (3-1) and newly promoted Boreham Wood (0-1), 2 sides that occupy positions 19th & 20th in the league table. At home they won their first 5 games but have failed to secure a win in their last two with a 0-0 draw against Grimsby and a 3-2 defeat to Eastleigh.

Tranmere Rovers, currently in form with 3 wins on the bounce and without a defeat since August, will go into the match full of confidence after beating Bromley, the league's most in-form team, 4-0 at Prenton Park. Going into the season Tranmere were one of the favourites for promotion and they are starting to realise that after a shaky start to the season. With an in-form striker in Andrew Mangan and the return from suspension of Steven Jennings Tranmere should put in a solid performance and avoid defeat against the Red Dragons.
