Everton vs Liverpool by FP

Brendan Rodgers will be hoping his gamble pays off when he takes his underperforming Liverpool team to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday afternoon. Rodgers rested a number of key players for the Europa League visit of FC Sion on Thursday night and it backfired as his team stuttered to a 1-1 draw. He will be under a lot of pressure if his team fail to take away any points from this match. Sturridge will return to the starting line up after being rested in midweek.

Roberto Martinez has his Everton team in a good place currently, they are unbeaten in their last six matches and staged a brilliant comeback last time out, coming from 2-0 down to defeat West Brom 3-2 away from home. Romelu Lukaku is in great form, and the team seem to be working together well as a unit. They are still inconsistent results wise, following a good performance with an average one but are certainly an improving outfit.

Looking through the likely line ups and tactics I think the teams are quite evenly balanced. Both teams look nervous defensively and are prone to errors, whilst they both have strikers who are always likely to score in Lukaku and Daniel Sturridge. The performance of the attacking midfielders may settle this game, with Barkley the creative force for Everton and Coutinho for Liverpool.

Neither team takes my fancy from a win perspective, but the value may lie in both teams to score. Liverpool have seen both teams score in all six of their last six matches, and Everton have seen both teams score in four out of their last six matches, including their last two games. Both teams to score is priced at 1.80 with 10bet.
