More positive news for Arsenal ahead of Tuesday’s fixture is that midfielder Francis Coquelin is fighting to return to fitness after a knee injury. Mathieu Flamini, though, is now missing after he suffered a hamstring problem during the win over Leicester. Olivier Giroud will also be absent following his sending off in Zagreb.
Olympiacos were beaten 3-0 against Bayern Munich on match day one and they weren’t great travellers last season. The Greeks lost all three of their group stage away matches last term and then they dropped to the UEFA Europa League and lost on the road at Dnipro. So they have now lost five away games in a row in the UEFA Champions League and a worryingly six in succession all European competition. Olympiakos midfielder Luka Milivojevic is suspended following his dismissal against Dnipro in last season's Europa League. Defender Manuel da Costa is also out with a knee injury.
Olympiakos have lost on their last 12 visits to the country, scoring just three times and conceding 37. The quality of Wenger’s men in attacking areas really should shine through, especially after Alexis Sánchez returned to form at the weekend with a hat-trick. I predict a convincing home win here which will see Arsenal register their first points on the board.
