Fulham vs Stoke by Ashjkc
These two sides met in the third round in 2010-11, with Stoke running out 2-0 winners. However, today's stoke has serious problems: only 3 points in opening 6 games and plays like a team which will face relegation. The best match the had was against Leicester- winning 2-0 at half time and then losing the lead, and full time result was 2-2.
Stoke's morale is very low, Charlie Adam facing suspension for foul play, striker Mame Biram Diouf uncertain for this match and mythical Stoke player Ryan Shawcross is still out. Stoke simply can't play good football. I've always known stoke for its impenetrable defense, with the likes of Shawcross, Afellay and Pieters. However, I know Stoke also for its very aggressive football, and this is one of the teams which usually get high number of cards in the premier league.
My point here is that Stoke is not the same as I used to know it. I mean the aggressiveness is here, but not the impenetrable defense. Mark Hughes may be the culprit here and I know that Fulham has all that it takes to take advantage of the situation.
Fulham is not that impressive too, but they have scored in ever match so far; they know how to score goal. With the actual Stoke defense, I cannot see how Fulham will not score match deciding goals here. Besides, I do not expect Stoke to play full first-team players, they have their own mess to clean up in premier league- else they will enjoy championship football instead of Premier League.
What I am saying here is that Fulham has great chances to win. In the precedent round, they eased their way against Sheffield (previous semi-finalist) in a brilliant display and full time result was 3-0. I am not saying that the score will be similar here, but we will see a well fought contest with a final result of 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1. Stoke might get a bit aggressive and a red card from the away side is a possibility not to be ignored, viewing the cold atmosphere reigning there currently.
