Bayern vs Wolfsburg by Pinstripe

Bayern
VS
Wolfsburg
Bayern München host Wolfsburg in arguably the most anticipated encounter of the Bundesliga season so far. Bayern sit currently second in the table, four points ahead of third-placed Wolfsburg. Both teams come into this match undefeated in the league and can rely on their strongest starting elevens - except for Wolfsburg's Vieirinha who misses the game because of an injury.

Bayern are overwhelming favourites according to bookies - and probably rightly so. They have won last sixteen home games against Wolfsburg in all competitions. However, Wolfsburg have left the field as winners in the last two meetings between the clubs, the latest victory coming in the German supercup final after penalties. I think that Wolfsburg have a better chance of causing a surprise than the odds suggest. Bayern haven't yet faced a team of Wolfsburg's quality this season in Bundesliga or Champions League, and defensively Wolfsburg will provide a much sterner test than Bayern's previous competition. Wolfsburg are also able to hurt Bayern with their fast counter attacks, even though Bayern will dominate possession.

Both teams have scored in 5 of the last 6 encounters between these two clubs, and I think the trend will continue tomorrow considering all the attacking quality the teams possess. I think the odds favour Bayern far too heavily considering the quality of Wolfsburg, and that's why I view this match as a good opportunity for a small stakes bet on Wolfsburg to win and BTTS at odds of 21. Good luck.

Additional analysis, Guardiola rotates the Bayern team especially in the defense line which is not a strength of Bayern as compared to Wolfsburg's defense with additional strength from ex bayern's Dante playing along with Naldo a fellow Brazilian. Dante would want to prove to Bayern that they were wrong to get rid of him. Additionally Guardiola is not so welcomed by the German Coaches and Dieter Hecking the Coach and Klaus Allofs the Manager would want to prove to Guardiola the pride of Germans in German Football. Finally this game would be a turning point and more competitiveness of the B

@Benjack interesting thoughts. I'm not sure what to think of Dante. He has all the qualities of a top defender, but sometimes seems to lack concentration. I hope that Naldo's presence will help Dante to be on top of his game today. I too fancy double chance X2 and also asian handicap +1,5 for Wolfsburg, placed bets with bigger stakes on those selections yesterday.

Regarding the lineups, i forgot to mention Bayern's long term absentees Ribery, Benatia, Robben, Badstuber and Kirchhof. On the other hand, Javi Martinez is fit again.

@jhk as far as I know, Lewandowski is fit to face Wolfsburg today. He missed last weekend's Bundesliga match due to a bruised foot.

Wolfsburg is a goal up in this moment. Just to repeat, this game is a game against Guardiola's philosophy and national pride of the Germans. I live in Germany and actually knows what is going on here.
