York vs Carlisle by Hassy

York City are back in action at home this Saturday as they welcome Carlisle United to Bootham Crescent. Taking four out of a possible six points from their last two fixtures and scoring 5 goals in the process, City are producing some strong performances and will be boosted further by their return to home soil after two away games on the bounce.

Meanwhile, visitors Carlisle come into the clash having recorded back-to-back home wins against Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge. The too scored five goals in their two home most recent home games. Sitting in ninth position, United will make the journey to North Yorkshire confident in their recent form; a shock Capital One Cup triumph against Queens Park Rangers last month still fresh in their minds. (0-3)

This league campaign alone has seen Carlisle net an impressive 15 goals already, but in conceding as many, Russ Wilcox’s men will be looking to exploit their tendency to get caught at the back.

York City will see new loan signing Rhys Turner will slot straight into the squad and could appear in this weekend’s tie.

Michael Coulson is back in training although will not appear in the clash with Carlisle while Emile Sinclair is pushing for his first start after recovering from a thigh injury.

Carlisle have two new arrivals from Newcastle available for selection. Winger Alex Gilliead and defender Macaulay Gillesphey, both 19, have joined the Cumbrians on 28-day loans and will be considered for debuts at the weekend.

They played 45 minutes in a midweek friendly against Middlesbrough, a match that also featured David Atkinson. The centre-half managed an hour in his comeback from a hamstring injury but Troy Archibald-Henville is still out.

York scored at least one goal in 100% of their home games and a huge number of their home games are going over 2.5 goals too. Carlisle Utd scored at least one goal in each of their last 7 games and they have managed to score at least one goal in 100% of their away games. 100% of Carlisle United's league games this season have gone to BTTS so I will gladly take up that happening again.
