Al-Kharitiyath vs Al Rayyan by Alexis1016
No many reasons for Al-Kharitiyath to be the favorites here. I think the bookmakers set these odds because Al Rayyan is a newly promoted team, but this is not very important, their roster is for top 5 in QSL this season. So Al Rayyan have a very strong squad. They have two players who are naturalized Sebastian Soria, a proven goalscorer in Qatar and Rodrigo Tabata, who was naturalized in this summer. On the paper the foreigners of Al Rayyan are Gonzalo Viera, Victor Caceres, Koh Myong-Jin and Sergio Garcia.
On the other hand, Al-Kharitiyath is not having the quality of Al Rayyan, they don't have better local players and their foreigners are good, but not something special. They are Brazilian centre back Domingos, Anwar Diba, Yahia Kebe (both wingers) and centre forward Hassan Abdel Fattah from Jordan. Also, Al-Kharitiyath have lost in the summer their Senegalese-Qatari keeper Khalifa Ababacar N'Diaye, who was sold to a better side like El Jaish.
Anyway, I will go for DNB instead of Al Rayyan win because former Espanyol striker Sergio Garcia was injured in the last round. Was said he will miss the next 3 weeks, but the coach of Rayyan said in the pre-match press conference:
"Garcia is improving. Yesterday he was part of training. We will evaluate him today. I have the okay from the medical team but we will check again closer to the match itself. If it's a big risk, we prefer to not play him and wait for the next game. He's a very important player for us but we cannot take a risk with him."
