Flavio Cipolla vs Hanescu by Bulan20
QF in Banja Luka Challenger (clay) between Flavio Cipolla and V.Hanescu.
31 y.o Italian Cipolla have been looking good this tournament. He is ranked 412, has a 28/19 record this year and 22/13 on his best surface clay. Plays mostly low key CH and have some solid results lately winning over Baena and pushing Kamke to 3 sets. Took Sancic in straight sets in R.1 and caused big upset in R.2 beating 1st seed Gimeno-Traver (#78) 4-6 6-7. Catched some of his game against Traver and Cipolla doesn´t have the best serve but is playing well from both backhand and forehand, especially his forehand is strong.
Hanescu is favoured for this match and I think that is legit. Bet on him in previous round against Bourgue and he did a good job winning in straight sets. He has a strong serve and is very dependant on it. His backhand is good but I think Cipolla will be able to push through it with his forehand.
Cipolla took a impressive win last round, even though Traver is not in his prime at the moment. This can turn out either way and wouldn´t be that surprised if Hanescu takes it. But if he can´t keep up his serve and if Cipolla can come up to the same level of play as in R.2 I think Cipolla has a solid chance to take this. I like the upset and go with the Italian.
