Koln II vs Rot-Weiss Essen by Dajkula

In the 8˙th round of Regionalliga West Koln II welcomes Rot-Weiss Essen. Koln II is placed 13`th in the league with 9 points while Essen is placed 8`th with 10 points but with a match less played. Essen has gotten into the grove lately with 3 wins from 4 matches but performances are still not great. They beat with 1:0 the newly promoted Velbert away and the worst team in the league Wegberg-Beeck at home. Especially against Wegberg the win should have been easier but came in the dying minutes. The defense has improved but for today will have serious missings.

Koln II is having a mediocre season as was the case in the last few seasons. They will probably finish around 10`th place. At home are also average with 1-1-1 and 4:5 goal average. At least there are goals in their matches and they look more attacking minded then in previous seasons. They beat Aachen 2:1 at home in the last round and also played 2:4 against strong Lotte.

The problem with this team is that you rarely know what playes will play and for this one will be reinforcements from the first team. They were cruciall in their win agains Aachen. Dominic Maroh, Marius Laux and Maurice Exslager will be added but since the game is played in midweek there will probably be more players added. It will give a creative boost to the hosts for sure.

Essen is favored among the locals to be a 75% winner but with serious missings they have I doubt they will win today. Marwin Studtrucker (first scorer, 5-3) is injured as is Richard Weber (cd,5-0) and Iyad Al Khalaf (cd, 3-0) while Moritz Fritz (def.6-2) is suspended.

The host are missing Lunga(att.1-0), Bors(att.3-1), Schall(mid.3-0), Tabaku(mid.0-0).

Koln will be boosted by players from Bundesliga while the visitors have important absences in defense. Even though Essen will miss the first scorer I will go for goals in this one.
