Germain Gigounon vs Chela by Bulan20

R.2 Kenitra Challenger (clay) between G.Gigounon and Maxime Chazal (Not Chela, pls change).

Gigounon, #185 is a 26 y.o from Belgium. Plays the majority of his season on CH-tour but usually not making it that far into the CH-tournaments. Qualified to Roland Garros as one of his best performances this year. Have 25/21 record this year with 13/11 on clay. Is in bad form lately, with only one win on clay from August and forward and that was because the opponent retired. Did okey in US Open qualifiers making it to q2 after beating Hamou and then losing to Fabbiano in 3 sets. Back on clay he lost in R.1 in Alphen CH against D.Novak (#252) 6-0 6-2. In Kenitra he started with a win in R.1 6-4 6-3 against Bague (#768). Don´t have any real weapons in my opinion, but can at times play well from the baseline.

Chazal, #277, is a 22 y.o frenchman. Plays a vast majority of his season on clay, mostly on ITF with some CH tournaments. Have 59/19 on clay this year, and have a few ITF titles this year. Also played in Alphen where he won against Ivanov (#347) in straight sets before losing to the same opponent as Gigounon, Novak, with 5-7 6-4 6-2. In R.1 here in Kenitra he won against S.Robert 7-5 7-6. Like Gigounon, Chazal have no real weapon. He plays solid from the baseline with good movement and pace on the ball.

Gigounon plays on a higher level, facing tougher opponents but is not a solid CH-player. Chazal is a top tier ITF player and are making his 2nd consecutive CH-tournament. Would probably say that Gigounon have a higher top-level than Chazal, but Chazal have the better form. I expect longer rallies and both player pushing each other in their respective servegames. Right now I think Chazal is a bit more solid in these rallies and I like him for the win in this one. Allez Chazal.
