Novak Djokovic - Roger Federer

7 consecutive won tips on Roger Federer's matches ... and counting ;)

I've already said it all about what happens these days with Roger Federer. The man is playing in a league of its own and unless he comes down mentally from that sky, as he did in the Wimbledon finals, as good as Novak is the serb won't be able to touch him.

I really think that people who talk about 3/5 being a problem are wrong now. As fast as Roger is playing (2 seconds between 1st and 2nd serve, 5 seconds between points, 1 minute per game) 5 sets will not be as long as exhausting as they were in other times. The only problem he had in Wimbledon and he could have here is the mental setup. But I don't think it will happen again.

Novak himself got his level down to human these past weeks and he will be unable to find himself enough time to setup shots and long rallies as Roger is playing that high speed and that agressive.

So I think it's time for history, for the 18th Slam and I hope to see this magic for as much as possible for us to enjoy (the two twin girls will go to school soon and then we won't see the Swiss Maestro on Tour anymore).

I believe that, when in form, Djokovic will never lose to Federer in a grand slam ever again. That was the case in Wimbledon, also, even if Federer was in a huge form himself. Today he's got a shot, the Serb is not even close to his peak at this US Open. In normal conditions, with Nole in good form, Fedex doesn't stand a chance at a GS, only in lower tier tournaments. And i'm saying this as a Federer fan. Fedex victory is a fair bet today, i don't know what to say about sets handicap. Good luck!

I think if the win comes it won't come in 5 sets, so there is good value in this seta handicap.
Also I'd say the opposite of what you've said: when Fed was in form at the moment of the match he won in maximum 4 sets. At Wimbledon, despite the way he looked in the whole tournament, he was pretty flat in the final. Now his BH looks great, the confidence is better and the odds ar bigger for a better mental stability, which sould be the key of the match.

I agree with Khum, if this match goes to fifth set then Nole will probably win it, I`m on Roger to win first set

Yeap. If it goes to 5th set it means Roger is not top notch, so Houston, we have a problem ;))

True! You've got your point with the sets handicap. About the WImbledon final, though, i disagree. One of the reasons, if not THE reason why Federer was flat in the Wimbi final was because Dkokovic made him play this way. I love Fed, but his BH is a joke, barely top 20, and the main reason why Nadal made him his pigeon, and for some time now, Nole, also.

The main reason Nadal has beat him so many times was the transformation of the surfaces. He started to dominate Fed only after the surfaces went slower and the ball started to jump higher, so he could push his topspin forehand higher on Federer's backhand.

Though, in the past two years Nole - Fed 5-5 ... so, sorry about "for some time now" ... :)
Ok, Nole has been dominant lately in the finals but he's been mostly a loser when it comes about US Open finals, no matter the opponent. The pressure will be on his side, as in Roland Garros.

Haha!
