Slaven Belupo vs Split by Dajkula

Slaven-Belupo
VS
Split
Slaven welcomes Split in the 9˙th round of the HNL. Slaven is placed 8`th with 9 points while Split is 3`rd with 14 points. Slaven are well known as poor travelers so it isn`t a surprise they stand near the bottom of the league as they played only 3 games at home. At home Slaven is some other animal and play with heart and guts. They are always hard to beat at home and nobody can collect 3 points upfront. At home they played against Lokomotiva 2:2, Osijek 3:0 and Zagreb 2:1. Besides a very level match against Lokomotiva they dominated in the other two and showed they still have the same concept. A lot of very important players left Slaven in post season so the team still needs time to adjust perfectly.

As coach Vulic said if the striker Cikaleshi and a few others haven`t left Split before the season started Split would be fighting for the title. That is of course far from the truth. Split is a very limited team and though I had the same illusions about Split a couple of times in recent years they put me straight. With the players Split has and had the best they could do is 4`th place and that is a letdown. Split does well at home but away from home they are miserable. In the last couple of seasons they picked up 4 away wins a season which is far from good. This season aswell Split played 3 away games and managed to score 0 goals. They played Inter 0:0, Hajduk 0:0 and dinamo 3:0. No goals scored sums it up how Split plays away. They lack the fight and just wan`t to hold the ball as much as possible. They are defensively oriented so we will probably not see much goals today.

Slaven won the last two at home vs Split 1:0 but ther were also a lot of draws before that. So I will pick the more cautious option here.

Slaven will miss the suspended Gregurina(mid.4-1) while the guests are without regular defender Majstorovic(8-0).
