Man. United vs Liverpool by Jose9Reyes

United have had a decent start to their campaign. They have collected 7 points out of a possible 12. They suffered their first defeat of the season to Swansea in their last outing after taking the lead. Manchester United have been solid defensively so far this season. They have kept 3 clean sheets out of a possible 4. Attacking wise they have been lacking having only scored 3 goals this season.

Liverpool have had a similar start to United. They too are on 7 points and are also coming off the back of a loss. They have only scored 2 goals and conceded 3 and I believe this is down to how Rodgers is now setting up his team. I watched the game versus Arsenal and Liverpool defended very well especially in the first half; and also late into the second half when Arsenal was piling on the pressure. I can see them using the same sort of game plan at Old Trafford.

I’m looking at the goal markets in this fixture. Both teams are tight defensively and are not exactly setting the world alight with their attacking play. They are also both coming off the back defeats and will not be wanting to suffer another defeat in such a big rivalry game. Odds of 1.75 are decent enough to back for Under 2.5 goals.

With Rooney also ruled out of the game it could be tighter than many pundits are making out. Good selection.
