Hampton vs Lewes by Hassy

Hampton & Richmond are usually a mid table side in the Ryman League and this season they will be just the same. So far this season they have won 3 of their six home games and have scored in all of these games. They were extremely disappointed with the draw against Burgess Hill over the weekend and the manager will be looking for a big reaction from that game. They are also currently on a five game unbeaten streak and they failed to make it a hat trick of wins with the draw against Burgess. The Richmond manager said the side under performed at the Beveree – and wants things to be better tonight against Lewes with a highly-charged display in front of the fans.

Lewes aren’t exactly rocking. The Sussex side have had a poor start to the season, but did manage to take a point from Hamtpon when they hosted them last month in a 1-1 draw. In that game, Hampton were looking comfortable with a 1-0 lead but then the game changed with fifteen minutes to go when Alex Laing was bundled to the ground by the Hampton keeper Seb Brown and referee David Spain not only gave a penalty but sent Brown off. Since then Lewes have picked up just the one point from the draw at VCD on Saturday so they aren't showing signs of improvement. They are winless this season and have already let in 17 goals but Dowson knows Hampton can take nothing for granted this evening. The Rooks will travel to Middlesex tonight with an almost unchanged squad although there could be one new face if the paperwork is completed on time.

Hampton aren't losing many games but they do need to make sure that they can turn as many draws into wins as as they possibly can to give themselves a chance of the play-offs. Charlie Moone, is back to full fitness and has scored in Hampton's last two games including the winner at Staines Town last week so I expect them to win this game convincingly.
