Wawrinka vs Anderson by Beatle
We've got Wawrinka, who is not in his top form and faced 4 pretty weak opponents so far and managed to lose 1 set to Young, who played a very long match before and should have been pretty tired. For Wawrinka it's gonna be a tough matchup since he lost 4 last meetings with Anderson (all in 2014 and 2015).
On the other hand, we have Anderson, who is playing better and better with every match and managed to eliminate in-form Murray in 4 sets. Wawrinka spent only 2:11h on the court against Young. Anderson spend 4:22h - exactly twice more time ! There is a big question regarding his current fitness.
One big fact though. Wawrinka lost his serve 3 times in match against Ramos, he was broken twice against Chung and 3 times against Bemelmans and Young. That's a total of 11 games lost on his serve against VERY, I say again, VERY average players. Anderson lost the very first service game of the tournament (in match against Rublev), never lost got broken against Krajicek and Thiem, got broken 3 times against one of the best returners in the World - Andy Murray.
For me it's an obvious choice. Anderson is just better at the moment. Why odds are so high is beyond me. He is feeling it, he is in the rhythm and even though he spent 4 hours in the last match, he also feels very confident now after his recent victory. I think that Anderson will try to fire his shots to Wawrinka's backhand as often as possible and will just overpower Swiss player in all aspects of the game. He is ready to make history as he was never before in his tennis career.
