Moldova vs Montenegro by Hassy

Montenegro will this week travel to Moldova in the two teams' European Championship qualifying clash, with both eager to bow out of the competition with some dignity left intact. That said, a win for Montenegro and it leaves their play-off chances with some hope as they will still remain three points behind Russia who I assume will beat Liechtenstein. Moldova have picked up only two points from their first seven qualification games and whilst the team stand no chance of making the finals they will be pleased with how competitive and close run most of their matches have been. Reputable draws against Liechtenstein and Russia are positives but the fact is they have only scored three goals throughout the campaign.

Montenegro have plenty of quality in their ranks, with the likes of Stefan Savic, Marko Basa, Jovetic, and Vucinic all turning out regularly for the nation. Since their last meeting, Montenegro have had a mixed campaign with two losses and two draws being paired with just one win, which came last time out against basement team Liechtenstein. Montenegro have scored just over one goal per game on average so far, however are expected to increase that strike rate against Moldova, who have conceded in every one of their group matches so far. I am going to back the away win in this one, I think Montenegro will be fully focused and desperate to make sure they stay in contention for a place at next years finals and should win out comfortable. The win to nil should also be considered here for the more adventurous pundits but I am in the middle of a bad run so I will go with the away
