Boston
VS
P.-Phillies
Boston is in obvious upswing lately (6-3 in the last nine games) and even though the Red Sox are already without chances to make the playoffs, they at least can complete their first sweep of at least three games since June 5-7.

Eduardo Rodriguez (8-5 with a 4.25 ERA), who takes the ball for the Red Sox in the final game of this series against the Philadelphia Phillies, is young and still inexperienced pitcher, which leads to some inconsistency in his performance, but it’s obvious that he owns big potential.

Rodriguez pitched well in most of his previous five starts, as the rookie surrendered two or fewer earned runs in four of them, including 7 hits and 2 runs (one earned) over five innings of a 4-3 win against the Yankees on Aug. 31, with four strikeouts.

Rodriguez, for whom this will be first start against the Phillies, has received a total of 25 runs of support in his last four starts.

The Phillies, who will try to avoid a fourth straight loss and ninth in eleven games between these two teams at Fenway Park, will send to the mound Jerad Eickhoff (1-2 with a 2.84 ERA).

The rookie right-hander pitched well in his debut start in the major league, in which he gave up 5 hits and struck out five over six innings of a 7-1 win in Miami on Aug. 21.

On the other hand, he had certain problems in his next two starts, allowing 10 hits and 7 runs (six earned), while walking three and striking out ten over thirteen innings against the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park on Aug. 26 (4-9) and in New York last Monday (1-3).Eickhoff has never faced the Red Sox or any of their hitters before.

The Red Sox scored 16 runs on 24 hits in the previous two games of this series and have .279 BA, with 42 runs and 10 HR from the last eight.

The Phillies, on the other hand, have .251 BA, with 34 runs and 5 HR from their last seven games, but were limited to three or fewer runs in eight of their previous fifteen games on the road (5-10).

I think that Boston will win the final game of this series, most probably with more than one run difference.
