Ross Pearson vs Paul Felder by MMAbettor
Paul Felder is rightfully the favorite in this match-up, but it is my opinion that Pearson is a live underdog and that Felder has not really proven himself enough to be considered such a big favorite.
The match-up is favorable for Pearson in the sense that he doesn't really have to worry about the takedown in this fight, and that's what he prefers, so that he can fully commit to his strikes.
They both fought not too long ago. Pearson on the 18th of July and Felder a week after, on the 25th of July. The difference is that Pearson hardly took any damage in his loss to Evan Dunham, while Felder received a substantial amount of body- and legkicks in his loss to Edson Barboza. I'm not sure if he was fully recovered by the time he started his training camp for this fight. I feel he might have taken a fight so soon just to get over his first loss ever.
I'm fully aware that Felder will have a speed advantage and that his chin is much more durable, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if Pearson managed to win a decision if he can avoid getting knocked out.
Given the odds, I choose to make a small play on Pearson to win.
