Barcelona vs Sevilla by Luca Garzeli

Barcelona
VS
Sevilla
For me Sevilla have many injuries to face FC Barcelona this time. Everybody is remembering the 2006 matchup between these two teams, but now there are a different situation. FC Barcelona recovered good sensations last season and Sevilla have a lot of missing players. But the main problem here it's not the injuried players (Barcelona will miss 2 players too), the problem is how Unai Emery have to readjusting the team with 3 center backs off. The most probable line up should be Mariano - Rami - Krychowiak - Tremulinas. Rami is a newly signed player, Krychowiak is a key player in midfield. He has lack of experience playing as CB and has not chemistry with Rami. Coke is another option in CB, but with the gamestyle of FC Barcelona, you need your CB helping continously. With Krychowiak playing as CB, you have to put Iborra (less than 2 weeks training) and Krohn-Dehli (newly arrived) in de midfield. So, it's a problem to generate opportunities to score for today's guests. The attacking line is expeted to be without significative chances with Reyes - Banega - Vitolo - Gameiro. Obviously, Bacca will be a big miss for Sevilla, but at least the 4 players in attack know each other.

Both preseason games were bad. Sevilla scored less goals than everybody expected against teams that they must to dominate. Barcelona received a lot of goals, because they played with some backup players and lacked intensity. We could see some changes in Trofeu Joan Gàmper, when Roma visited Nou Camp last wednesday. FC Barcelona press high and Roma couldn't do anything except make some tackles and try some long passes. The society Suarez - Messi - Neymar was brilliant, again. Neymar won't play today, so for this reason the main weapons will be Suarez and Messi. This fact means that defensive line of Sevilla will be more careful with Messi, but with the injuries that Sevilla have, the balls behind the defense and the "walls" near the box will be too much for Sevilla. Then, Messi scored 22 goals against Sevilla and with Real Madrid and Atlético is his favourite team to score. In the left wing will play Pedro, surely, and back of him Mathieu in substitution of Jordi Alba. The left side of FC Barcelona's attack won't be the most used, so in some moments the right side with Messi/Dani Alves will be collapsed. However, Messi is a player that moves around the pitch, goes down to midfield to receive the ball, and is not a player that stays static in the right wing. He can dribble in "diagonal" and move without the ball generating spaces for the other side of the pitch, or making passes throught the defense or behind them.

H2h between these two teams is with a lot of goals, but I think the start of the game will be slow. But at the end, Unai Emery never won FC Barcelona with any team he coached. Messi is a beast for Sevilla, he is just starting training, but he doesn't need too much to generate chances to score. I think this game will be a clear win for FC Barcelona. I don't think that with the pressing intensity that Barcelona showed in his last friendly Sevilla could manage to score more than a remote goal. I wondered Barcelona and under 3.5 (@2.40) or Barcelona win to nil (@2.50), but h2h influences me a lot, so I am going to choose this bet.
