Lopez vs Groth by Bulan20

Lopez
VS
Groth
Back to the Round of 16 between F. Lopez and S. Groth in the ATP 500 in Washington.

Lopez is a 33 years old Spaniard who currently sits on the #19 spot of the singles ranking. He is a tall guy with a big serve that favours the clay. His most recent tournament was at the clay in Gstaad where he reaced the SF loosing to Thiem (#21). There he beat Reister (#759) in R.16 and Giraldo (#59) in the QF. The tournament in Washington is played on HC, and Lopez got a bye in the first round beating Hewitt 2-1 in the last round.

Groth, 27 years, ranked #62 from Australia. Plays the major part of his season on the ATP tour and in similarity to Lopez he is a big guy with a strong serve and powerful strokes. He played in Atlanta last week losing to Baghdatis (#47) in R.16. In Washington he played Bellucci (#31) in R.1 winning 2-1 and beat Troicki (#20)in straight sets in the previous round.

I think this can be a pretty evenly matched game. Lopez has not played that much in HC recently, he has the adjustment to the timezon coming from Europe (that he prob. overcome but still can have its affect), and has not been the solid player that he usually can be, during 2015. He lost a set against Hewitt and had a 2h game against him which may be a factor. Groth, played in the states on HC last week, have not had the best of results lately but he is on a good run in this tournament.

The O/U bet is a good option too, but I like the value in Groth as winner.
