Auxerre vs Brest by Alcuni

Auxerre
VS
Brest
Start in French Ligue 2 tonite.. I will try to piss you off also this season with this - still - difficult to read ligue.

Auxerre made a good transfer campaign bringing in experimented players like striker Courtet (ex Reims and Brest) and offensive midfields M Diaw (Niort ) and I. Seck (Creteil) and young defender Sylla from Troyes and also GK Boucher (Toulouse) . Left the team Samaritano (Dijon), GK Leon, striker Viale (back to Laval), Castelletto (Bruges). Remember Auxerre had a very good part of the season almost till the end, when reached the Final of the French Cup and didn’t put accent on last games from championship.

In my opinion Auxerre will be one of the contenders for promotion. Same coach a good and homogenous team, new good signings – all of them means clear intentions for promotions. For this game Seck is suspended, while playmaker Gragnic is still injured from last season. In preseason games they played a lot wining 2 drawing 4 and losing 3.

Brest was good enough last season but not god enough to finish on top 3. They had good and bad periods. Too much draws blocked their way to Ligue 1. In preseason they lost a lot of players and brought new ones and I think at least at the beginning they will suffer from homogenous point of view. Lost GK Thebaux, Courtet, Laborde, Moimbe, Khaled, Ramare, Toure and Traore most of them playing a lot in last season. As players in I can mention defender Brillaut (Orleans) and other lower league players. So a big minus for them for sure in defensive compartment. Perez and Koubemba are suspended while Fanchone is injured

In the friendly they won once (against lower league team), drew twice and lost twice

Keeping in mind all those I think Auxerre have the edge here and I see them starting with a win against a top rival. gl
