Altach vs Guimaraes by Marinos
Back on Saturday they played their first game in the new season and lost away to Grodig 2-1. There was only a few changes in their roster and all casualties were replaced and therefore they are not expected to take a long time in order to obtain homogeneity. No problems reported.
Guimaraes had a very good season too. They made a great first round in the Portuguese league and although their performance dropped in the second round, they managed to easily secure their position within the top five of the league and therefore the ticket for this year's Europa League. Away from home they had quite good presence (5-5-7) and this will be their fifth European presence over the past ten years.
This will be the first official game for Guimaraes as their league is starting on August 15. There is many changes to their roster, a new coach as well. Significant losses are winger Bernard and last year's top scorer Andre who signed for Porto, but they made several moves to support all lines and of course it will take some time to acquire consistency. There are no squad problems mentioned.
A game of great importance for both teams. Altach in their maiden participation in Europe want to go as far as possible, while Guimaraes may be slightly better due to more experience in Europe, but they lack homogeneity. I believe that we will see a game that will move at a low pace, with only a few action in front of goal posts.
