Paysandu did well to secure promotion to the Brazilian Serie B, but they obviously do not want to stop now. The Papao de Curuzu have been manufacturing scintillating displays in the Brazilian second tier and they are just one point behind league leaders Botafogo ahead of match day 10. The hosts seem to be at the top of their game at the moment and the fact that they have recorded seven wins in last eight home fixtures is giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of the Atletico GO game. Paysandu are a real force to be reckoned with at home and they are widely expected to extend their winning run on Tuesday evening. Leandro Cearense is eager to start a new goal-scoring run and the Brazilian attacker will be the man to watch in the home team.
Gualberto and Fahel are both banned, but boss Dado Cavalcanti has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match.
Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Emerson – Joao, Thiago, Yago, Silva – Alberto, Jhonnatan, Capanema, Misael – Leandro, Aylon.
Atletico GO, on the other hand, head into the match against Paysandu following a 1-1 draw with Parana. The Dragons are tough to beat at home ground, but the team have been struggling on the road this season. Jorginho’s men have suffered a defeat in each of their five away games this term and it is no surprise they are considered big underdogs in Tuesday’s clash against second-placed Paysandu. The visitors aim to move away from the relegation zone, but I am not sure if they should be looking for points in the match against the Papao de Curuzu. In previous two meetings between the two sides in the Brazilian Serie B no more than one goal in total has been netted, but I would not be surprised if we see quite a few goals this time out as Atletico’s away record is anything but good. Taking everything into account, the hosts are likely to record their sixth consecutive win in front of home fans.
Coach Jorginho can’t count on the likes of Rafael and Marcus Vinicius for the Paysandu game. The duo misses the match with injury, but there are no suspended players in the away side.
Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Márcio - Éder Sciola, Samuel, Lino - Anderson Pedra, Pedro Bambu, Anderson – Juninho, Arthur.
