IFK Lulea vs Dalkurd FF by Raymond Fire
Playing away today; Dalkurd are a very strong side in this league.
Last year they were unfortunate to miss out on promotion. They finished 3rd in this league (1 point below 2nd place) and therefore very narrowly missed out on the 2 promotion spaces. This year they are clear favourites for promotion, and will probably come 1st.. They already are top dogs.. with only 9 games played they are in the 1st position and clear by 5 points... and have a game in hand over some teams.. So a great start to the season for them.
Furthermore, they are a team which performs very well on the road. Despite falling short last season and coming 3rd.. They came 1st place for away games. All season they only lost 1 away fixture (and that was to AFC United, the team who won the league and got promoted.. So a forgivable loss). Apart from that one game they had 9 wins and 3 draws away from home. They picked up more points on the road and won more games on the road than they did at their own ground. They have started this season with equal success away from home. 3 away games into the season and they are still unbeaten. 1 draw followed by 2 wins. Dalkurd win the vast majority of their away games.. their last 15 away games have ended in 12 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.. Very impressive (one of those losses was a Cup game too).
Dalkurd have started this season just how they would have liked.. 9 games in they are unbeaten with 7 wins and 2 draws. Their new signings are already proving themselves to be very helpful additions.. They have quite a few new players this season.. In the transfer window they lost a few players but then have now replaced them with at least equal quality.. One player worth mentioning is a newly bought striker:
Törnros - from rival team, already 6 goals from his 7 games.. 5 goals in their last 5 games.
Dalkurd brought in plenty of other quality too though, including players from higher divisions which brings a new level of experience to their team:
Tanković - quality midfielder who has played for several clubs in both the top and 2nd Swedish domestic divisions.
Ranđelović - another quality midfielder who has played for several top division clubs, but In Macedonia, Serbia & Belarus.
Mete - Very experienced attacker who has experience in both the top Swedish divisions also.
Dalkurd were already a big club in this league and promotion candidates.. As they showed last season.. Now with their additional players they should secure a top spot this season.
Players who were already at the club, such as Jagne, Awad & Azizi have also been key so far this season. All 3 players have been in top scoring form already.
Whilst Dalkurd came a very close 3rd last season (and 1st for away games only).. The home side were on the complete opposite end of the scale. They finished just 2 spaces above relegation. They were very poor and won very few games. They finished the season with a negative goal difference and proved to be one of the weaker sides at this level... Even at home they had an even split of results and weren't impressive.
Dalkurd have visited this club 4 times to play them.. From those 4 away fixtures they have 3 wins and 1 draw.. Never beaten.
Including home and away games, they've clashed 8 times... 5 wins for Dalkurd and 3 draws... Dalkurd have never lost to this side, home or away.... And like their record in general, they actually have a better H2H record away from home.
Despite this rather big gulf in quality, the home side have actually started the season well.. They sit in 5th place currently with just 1 loss (but a lot of draws).. However, this form won't last and Dalkurd should sweep them aside today.
Dalkurd are the stronger team and in great form, their last game out was a VERY unlucky draw.. They were at home and conceded a 90th minute penalty to draw 1-1.. Prior to that they had 6 wins in a row.
