GS Warriors vs Cleveland Cavs by AlexP

Game 5 off the NBA Finals.

2 Wins for each team and with the Warriors having the momentum of the last games 21p win. It was the first blow to consider for the Cavs. Curry finaly hit some 3p shots and Iggy had his day looking a couple of years younger. Great performance from the W as we know them all season long.

But an important fact is that James got knocked off. Midway the second quarter he hit the camera right below the post and got injured with a big scratch on his head. Now you can tell he must a have felled dizzy if you look at those pics. Even so, he played 40minutes scoring the fewest point in this series so far, 20p. I wouldnt take that as an excuse for the Cavs defeat but i still consider it an important fact knowing that your best player is shaky.

Anyhow, Warriors won and well deserved. They played better and thats it. But right now we have another Story. so far all victories, excepting the last, have been with small margin. And so i take my shot and back the Cavs with the point spread pinnacle offers. I think 9.5p is a bit over the margin as the Warriors won big last game.

Both games played in Oakland have been lower that this margin and on paper it looks like W are going to win for sure, but by 10 seems a little to much for me. Its still the finals and Lebron is still on the court.

Cavs defense worked well all playoffs and why should it change now? I see value here and i take the spread.

The issue wasn't the LeBron's fall. The real Cavs' issu was the physical exhausting of the starters, as I stated in my prediction.
Expect a clear win for the Warriors in game 5 in another low scoring game ;)

How come that iam not surprised seen your comment Khum?
Both teams will have a extra day off, so no exhausting issue here imo..

I have no clue about what and how is surprising you ;))
Neither I have any clue of why do you make the confusion between what I say at past tense, about the 4th game, and take it as it would be said about the 5th game.

Before first games of series it was 8days of with every game more, players are more are clearly fresher team, and i dont believe that 72h will do wonders for cavs..even if they are rested i think gs finally found way to beat them.

I agree with the tip. Remember that it's always hard to play at home and protect the home ground. Warriors have never been in the Finals before. The score is 2-2 and Cavs will show a better performance here. They won't have that much of a pressure. They are more experienced at the moment. They will run for that win in order to try and snatch that important victory. Cavs +9.5 is a super bet.

Except LeBron neither the Cavs have been in the finals before.
Plus for the Warriors doesn't seem as hard as you say to play at home and protect the home court.
If 39 wins and 2 loses mean it's hard for them to protect the home cours, than we are all flying pigs ;)

@Beatle, thanks.
@Khum, i believe it will be another close contest, but if you dont think so you can do as last time, post the opposite. All in all it could end well for you, who knows :P

Dear Khum.

I did not get this part : "Except LeBron neither the Cavs have been in the finals before."

Lebron played in the Finals for 5 times if I am not mistakening. James Jones is another player with experience in the Finals. For W's, on the other hand, being in the Finals is something new. Regular season results don't count here. Cavs could win the 1st game easily in regulation time, they won the 2nd game. It only proves how shaky W's are at the moment when playing at home. They will be under huge pressure tonight.

They're so shaky that they lost only two games in a year. What team wouldn't pay for being that shaky?
And let's not forget we're talking about the no1 home crowd in NBA ;)

My bad. I didn't count Jones but his experience seems to count little as he's playing small minutes.

I'm gonna post the best tip that i see for this game.
This doesn't mean that I cannot believe and express that the LeBron's fall is less important that you stated.
I hope it's not a problem for you :)

@ Khum. Thats no problem with me. Still i do believe that tonight we will see Lebron on fire again. Warriors got the pressure to be playing at home and they didnt handle it well in first to games, why should that change now? Even if they have the momentum of last games winning, i do think that this could erase quickly if Cavs come out strong. And my guess is that they will. You cant relay on Iggy to play as he did last game. Cavs + 9.5 has value for me as i stated. Good luck to your pick whatever you choose to do. :)
