India vs Oman by Dajkula

In Sree Kanteerawa Stadium, Bangalore India welcomes Oman for the first round of group D of the WC Qualification Asia. India is ranked 141 while Oman is ranked 101`st by FIFA. It is a clean slate and everyone has a chance to reach second place but Oman is huge favorite today. I don`t see India improving much in the last couple of years and though they have their new revamped I league there hasn`t been much effect on the NT. The last time these two played was in a friendly in 2012 and it ended 5:1 for Oman. It probably won`t be like that but a clear Oman win very likely.India has a new coach in the likes of Stephen Constantine, a man who lead them in 2004 qualification when India lost at home to Oman 1:5. He has made considerable changes and brough 8 new faces in the team. He says he will not go with names but with what players show on the field and all have a chance to prove their worth.

So India will have a quite inexperienced midfield and defense for this tie but they re going for at least a point today, so they say.

Oman has not had a good performance in Asian cup 2015 and the coach Paul Le Guen was under huge criticism but he remained as coach. He believes this group will not be a tough one for Oman to reach spot number 2. Besides Iran there isn`t a reall contenderand and he dismisses the other teams chances. The only thing that Oman Nt is worried about today is the condition of the pitch which is very uneven. Oman has more quality players from Saudi league, Oman and Kuwait and is easy to see them dominate, especially against unexperienced back line of India. I can`t say I know any of these players but the results don`t lie. India will find it hard to be third in group D. The odds look huge for me in the goal market and I think we will see more than 3 goals today.

Probable lineups:

India: Subrata Pal; Lalchhuan Mawia, Sandesh Jhingan, Arnab Mondal, Rino Anto; Jackichand Singh, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Sehnaj Singh, Francis Fernandes; Robin Singh; Sunil Chhetri
