Tampa Bay vs LA Angels by Sors

The Rays lost 2-8 in the opening game of their three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels yesterday, but I think that Tampa Bay is the team with better chances for a win today, given the fact that the Angels will send to the mound Jered Weaver (4-5 with a 4.60 ERA), who is obviously far from his best shape in this moment.

The right-hander is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing 9 hits and 7 runs over 5 2/3 innings in a 7-8 loss against the Yankees last Friday.

Weaver, who posted a 5.73 ERA in his previous seven road contests this season, went 1-3 with a 6.26 ERA in four starts versus Tampa Bay over the last three years.

Asdrubal Cabrera is 12-for-40, with 2 HR and two walks against him, Logan Forsythe is 2-for-6, Evan Longoria is 5-for-17, with two walks, while David DeJesus is 12-for-46, with 2 HR, 4 RBI and four walks.

Los Angeles will face Erasmo Ramirez (4-2 with a 5.10 ERA), who is coming off two quality starts, as the right-hander gave up just 3 hits and struck out seven over seven innings of a 3-0 win in Baltimore on May 30 and 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out five over 5 1/3 innings in his last start in Seattle on June 4 (2-1).

In the point of fact, Ramirez yielded 5 runs on 5 hits, with five walks over six innings in his last starts at Tropicana Field against Oakland on May 24 (2-7), but pitched well in his previous two starts here against Toronto on April 25 (4-2) and the New York Yankees on May 14 (6-1).

He has posted a 2.45 ERA in four career starts against Los Angeles.

Mike Trout is 5-for-13, with a homer and 2 RBI against him, but Kole Calhoun, Erick Aybar, Albert Pujols, David Freese and Matt Joyce are a combined 7-for-39.

My bet is on Tampa Bay in the second game of this series against the Los Angeles Angels at Tropicana Field.
