Bilbao vs Barcelona by Rahul

Barcelona head into this game in order to seal the 2nd trophy out of a possible 3 in order to work towards sealing that treble a week from now against Juventus in the Champions League finals. They come into this game with great form ahead of them but have particularly been conserving energy for these 2 coming games. One factor is that Barcelona are the away team despite being played at the Camp Nou; but you can be sure a lot of extra support coming in for the Catalans in this game.

Coming into this game Lionel Messi has been in particularly outstanding scoring form, netting 11 goals in 10 games and particularly 3 in his last 2 (which have been the only 3 goals that Barcelona scored in that time). Messi will know that sealing up the treble with his influence will be important for his team and in particular for manager Enrique who is managing his first season in Barcelona. Luis Suarez should hopefully be fit to start as he would aim to seal his double as well in his 1st season in Catalunya. Barcelona also have the 3rd member of the Triumvirate Neymar in great form; and he will be looking to net or else assist his team mates in order for his team to win.

Athletic Bilbao come into this game with a lot of confidence scoring 3 goals and 4 goals in their last 2 games and will look to find a goal to trouble Barcelona in this final. Bilbao gets nominated as the home side and will have a fair representation of fans in the audience for this fixture. The last time these 2 teams met was a 5-2 win for Barcelona away from home, and that shows Bilbao's ability to net against this Barcelona team.

Barcelona will also have their cup keeper Ter Stegen in goal for this fixture. He has looked to be a bit unstable in goal, leaking 9 goals in his last 9 games including against Madrid, PSG, Man City, Villareal, Atletico Madrid and Ajax this campaign. While you can say they are good teams, he has shown to be vulnerable on set pieces and counter attacks and especially since he is a bit shorter; he tens to have goals conceded in the top corners of the games.

This will be an open encounter as Bilbao know that they need to score first in order to have a chance to win this contest while Barcelona will feel they are at home and will want to score as much as they can and seal of this game, led by Lionel Messi. As a result I have taken an interesting pick for this game of Barcelona to win, Over 2.5 match goals and Lionel Messi to score anytime.
