Stumbras vs FK Trakai by Raymond Fire
Stumbras - FK Trakai
Trakai, direct title contenders who occupy 1st place.. However, this game is crucial in maintaining that position as Zalgiris lurk just 1 point below, with a game in hand.
Trakai have had a BRILLIANT start to the season, their form is at their prime at the moment.. they now are looking at 10 consecutive wins.. and should make it 11 tomorrow. Those 10 wins include beating every single team in the league, including Champions Zalgiris, as well as many other teams who are a lot stronger than the hosts of tomorrows game.
Trakai have the better squad in all departments. They have scored the most league goals (31 in 12 games.. averaging just under 3 per game).. They are also very strong in defence, with just 12 goals conceded (1 per game on average).. They have been in dream form this season and I've wrote about them several times already this year.. Extremely well organised at the back and they manage to hold possession and dominate EVERY game.. I have watched them most games this season and I have to say they have been very impressive and shown no signs of slowing down or their form dipping... Europa League qualification (2nd/3rd place) is expected for them although now I'm sure they'll have their eyes on the title and Champions League qualification (1st place).
They already beat tomorrow's opposition 3-1 at home.. and that was before Trakai hit perfect form... And before they had the top class player Cesnauskis in their squad.. and before they had Bychenok.. who has scored 4 goals in his 5 games since starting for them.
Since the previous H2H (which Trakai easily won anyway), Trakai have much improved their squad, form, style of play and overall ambitions.
Trakai have a MUCH better squad since last season... as i've mentioned before they have plenty of attacking quality who are currently proving themselves very valuable additions.. Their squad includes some high quality foreign players. This includes the Russian due of Arshakyan (5 goals so far) & Mamaev (4 goals so far)... Both quality attackers for this league and they have started their season well. Their current top scorer, Kochanauskas, is in good form too (7 goals).
Stumbras is a much weaker team... The value of their roster is substantially less. Their primary concern will be to avoid relegation.. They currently sit 6th out of 10 and aren't doing too badly in all honesty...
That being said they are still the MUCH weaker team with the far less experienced squad... They were just promoted to this league from the lower division and have much lower ambitions and capability.
They are pretty poor in defence and in attack they rely on Rimkevicius for basically all their goals now.. He is good but can't single handedly get results for them.
The home side started the league alright (when Trakai still beat them 3-1) but now their form has dropped. Their only win in their last 9 games was to Kruoja.. A team in TERRIBLE form and when they played this game Kruoja were in the middle of a match fixing scandal.. I'm not entirely sure if that specific match was fixed but even if not.. That's their only win for a long time and Kruoja have been playing very badly anyway.. So nothing to worry about for Trakai.
The home side played here at home just a couple of days ago and lost 2-4 to a much poorer side than Trakai (Trakai beat that side 2-0 with no problems)... Their other 3 recent games were all poor performances and ended in draws against poor teams.. Trakai beat the same 3 teams by 2, 3 & 4 goal margins.
Trakai are the better team in better form.. Very motivated to keep themselves at top spot and they should continue their current 10-win-streak... They have been scoring lots and conceding few. Very generous odds @1.727 with Marathon Bet.
