Real Madrid vs Juventus by Kamlesh
Juventus drew their weekend match against Cagliari in Serie A by a score of 1-1. Paul Pogba (23/8 m) made his return from injury and he even scored in the game but in the closing stages of the match, Cagliari equalized the score. However, this result does not matter for Juventus as they have already won the Serie A title and the coach rested almost all the regular first team players. Asamoah (6/0 m) and Caceres (10/1 d) will miss out.
Morale is low at Bernabeu after failing to defeat Valencia and the fans have been booing the team. They also played a quick tempo at high intensity and fatigue might be a problem for the Spanish in the Champions League tonight. Real Madrid have been very poor in defence lately. In fact, in their last three games, they conceded at least two goals and they have also shown inconsistency at the back after the poor display against Schalke in the eighth finals of the Champions League where they lost at home (3-4) and were very close to being eliminated on away goals rule if Schalke had scored another goal. However, they progressed to the quarter finals as they won on aggregate (5-4) but it was not a convincing performance at all.
Juventus are a very disciplined side in defence and they are equally efficient in attack with their midfield maestro trio of Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo supplying the ball to Serie A current top scorer Carlos Tevez. Besides, the first team regulars were well rested during the weekend and they will be fresh for this game and morale is also high as they have already won the Serie A league title.
Real Madrid might have the most expensive squad in the world but in this match, the circumstances and conditions of the players seem to be more favorable for Juventus. As such, I expect a positive performance from the Italians tonight.
