Bolleli/Fognini vs Kyrgios/Sock by Khum
ATP Masters Rome, Doubles
Bolelli/Fognini - Kyrgios/Sock
I have ben very curious which of the Kyrgios/socks and Rosol/Simon pairs would prevail, because there were two cases of 'good doubles player + accidental doubles player' combinations.
Nick Kyrgios was coming after a streak of 7 doubles matches where he won 3 sets but 0 matches and Gilles Simon was the "owner" of a 9 matches during he won only a single set (last 8 matches lost 2:0).
After a bit of a thriller, from the two halted pairs the younger one prevailed with 10-8 in super tie-break.
Toss of a coin, ha? :))
Now, let's get to serious stuff.
Today, this australo-american pair will face the crowd favourites, the Australian Open champions, the Indian Wells and Monte Carlo finalists, the no1 pair of 2015: Bolelli/Fognini.
I know they screwed-up a similar match, against a similar pair, with a Mannarino coming from a 2 wins and 21 losses in doubles (Cabal/Mannarino also beat the Bryans in the next match), but I cannot see that wonder happening twice in a row; not in front of he home crowd.
I am playing 2:0 for this game, but since the bookies agreed by Betshoot don't have this option, I'll take Bolelli/Fognini with full trust to win this match.
