Simon vs Sock by Experttennis

Gilles Simon didnt play in Madrid and I think that it wasnt about the injury but just needed some time off and I think that he got in Rome a couple of days earlier to maybe visit some tourist stuff and prepared for his match . I think that we will remember his incredible match against Rafa last season where he completely changed his game style and looked to be agressive as much as he can be and it payed dividence cause Rafa had to fight hard for the win and was forced to play three sets with eventually winning the third with 6-2 .

He played well in Monte Carlo but dissapointed a bit in Bucharest where he lost to Gimeno Traver who later on almost surprised Roger in Istanbul so its not as much of dissapointment as some might consider .I think that he will make the best out of the surface and the conditions cause his oponnents looks to be agressive and if Gilles defends on a level that we are used to see from him that he will win this one with ease . Sock is nothing that he hasnt already seen .

Sock is mostly a hardcourter who played well in Houston and eventually won the title against Sam Querrey in a double tiebreaker , after that played only Madrid where he beat Andujar and lost to Tsonga . Dont see a way for him to surprise here cause the surface is slower than the one in Madrid and the one in Houston and the conditions suit the Frenchmens game more than they do his .

Gilles will win this .
