Longford vs Dundalk by TFB
Dundalk's last match was an 8-1 hammering of Bray Wanderers, confirming their likely dominance of the league this season as they look for back to back league titles.
This dominance will likely continue as long as they keep their squad of players fit with their rivals continuing to take points off each other on a weekly basis. Midfielder Richard Towell has shown plenty of star quality so far this season netting 10 times in his 11 games while forward David McMillan has also looked excellent so far scoring 5 goals in his 11 games.
Their opponents, Longford Town, are newly promoted this season after winning the First Division last time round. They have started well, currently in 6th position, which they can certainly be very pleased with after the first set of 11 matches.
However, with only 1 win at home so far this season against a poor Bray side, this could become an issue going forward as the season progresses with them hoping to avoid relegation back to the First Division.
Defender Conor Powell, who has played all 11 games so far this season will be missing due to his red card in the 0-0 draw with Derry City last time out. This can only disadvantage Longford when they will be facing the league's most dangerous attack on Saturday evening.
Dundalk have already had some impressive away wins so far this season such as 3-0 vs. 3rd place Bohemians and an excellent 2-1 win over 2nd place Cork City. Dundalk are the only side to beat Cork at Turner's Cross in 31 league matches.
Assuming Dundalk bring their shooting boots they shouldn't have too much trouble defeating Longford.
