Forfar vs Ayr United by TFB

My Scottish pick today comes from Station Park as Forfar hope to clinch promotion by defeating Ayr United and hoping Greenock fail to beat Peterhead.

Forfar have an exceptional home record this season, the best in the league infact. They have amassed 13 wins out of the 17 games with only 2 draws and 2 defeats and only conceding 11 goals in the process. Their recent home form has seen them win 5 on the bounce and 6 in their last 7 with the defeat coming against Greenock Morton who top the table.

Station Park is certain to house it’s biggest crowd of the season as the Loons attempt to record their 14th home league win of the campaign.

A similar squad is expected to the one that recently beat Dunfermline 3-1 away from home but defender Mark Baxter remains doubtful and midfielder Derek Young is ruled out.

Ayr do still have something to play for, they need 1 point to avoid the relegation play-off. Their only problem is they are not very good. They only have 3 wins since October and 2 of those were against Stirling Albion who are the whipping boys of the league. Funnily enough, the other victory was a 1-0 home win against Forfar.

Ayr United will travel to Forfar with a full squad.

The average for this match seems to be under 1.50 so 1.60 seems a decent price on what should be a home win.
