Third placed Manchester United P33 W19 D8 L6(4th currently with City up a goal) travel to Everton P33 W10 D11 L12 for what should be an interesting encounter.

Everton have won 4 of their last 5, drawing 1-1 against Swansea away showing an improvement of sorts in recent times. They have scored 8 and conceded 3 in the process. There is no hiding that this season has been underwhelming from their point of view. Once again it was supposed to be their breakout season to challenge for a place in Europe but it never materialized. The wins have brought Everton to a respectable 12th but it is still a season they will want over with. In recent years Everton have had good success against United. The Evertonians have lost 31 times in the PL to United second only to Villa losing to United 32 times. Note though that United have not lost three successive games away to the same opponent more than twice since 1987 against Everton itself.

Manchester United started horrificly bad and many just did not like Van Gaal but how the tide has turned. They have won 4 of their last 5 losing to Chelsea@the Bridge beating Spurs,Liverpool,Aston Villa and City! They have scored 12 in the process and conceded 5. They are a team in form and have begun to gel to Van Gaals methods and will just improve.

Everton are a well drilled unit but United have been on fire which leads me to beleive on current form they should edge this encounter. If they play anywhere near their level from the last few games this bet is a lock.

Team news : Everton will miss Pienaar and Gibson while McCarthy, McGeady,Osman and Oviedo are doubtful.

United will be without Carrick, Rafael, Jones and Rojo. Blind, Januzaj and Van Persie are fighting against the clock for match fitness and could feature.
