Wongteanchai vs Lu by Tennisguy

This is a quarterfinal match from the Shenzhen 2 ITF tournament(hard) between Varatchaya Wongteanchai from Thailand and Jing-Jing Lu from China.

They have met 2 times and the score is tied. They first met at the Changwon ITF in 2008 where Lu won 6-2, 6-3, and then at then in 2011 at the Beijing ITF where Wongteanchai managed to win 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.

I am a bit surprised that Lu is still so undervalued after the 2 good performances she had in this tournament. She defeated Su Jeong Jang 7-5, 6-1 in the first round and then won against the nr.2 seeded player here Luksika Kumkhum.

Sure Wongteanchai has has had some good matches this year but I still don't think she should be such a big favorite because of that. This tournament she defeated Yukun Zhang 6-3, 6-4 and Noppawan Lertcheewakarn 6-1, 6-2. She played well in those matches but the opposition wasn't even close to the one Lu had so I don't think it such a big deal.

I think Lu can easily overpower Wongteanchai as she is the stronger player for sure. I think Wongteanchai will try to make the points longer but it won't really work because from what I've seen Lu play so far she can easily dominate the points and create easy winners so I think that will be decisive.

For me Lu has to much value here and I think she should be given much more credit after the way she played so far so going with her is an easy choice for me.

Jing-Jing Lu won this one so easily 6-3, 6-4. She is playing so well I think she can win this tournament.
