Jaro vs SJK by Raymond Fire
Playing against Jaro, a team they have already faced twice this year, in the Cup, they won 4-0 at home and 3-4 away from home. That makes it 4/4 wins for SJK in the most recent 4 H2Hs (home and away).
SJK have been a VERY impressive force recently, they came up to the 1st division and did brilliantly last season, they pushed for a 2nd place finish, more than proving themselves. They now have a very talented squad, in particular with lots of attacking quality.. They should be bigger favourites today. Last season they finished 3rd on the table for away performances, they seem to play just as well on the road as they do at home.. as well as winning both their latest away H2H games, they have been in brilliant form away from home in general.. In fact they haven't lost a game on the road for a massive 9 months... Thats 12 games in all competitions, 6 wins and 6 draws.
Jaro on the other hand have been poor, even at home. Their home form was terrible last season, they finished in 10th place for home games (out of 12)... Very poor from them. Their recent home record is equally poor. From their last 11 home games, also going back 9 months, they have 6 losses 3 draws and just 2 wins.
SJK are definitely the better team, and I don't see the away factor being a crucial one in this particular match up... no knowing these two.
Jaro have hosted SJK 5 times in total, those games have ended in 3 SJK wins, 1 draw and 1 win for Jaro (a friendly).
Jaro have openend their league season with 1 home draw... SJK have 4 points so far from a home win and away draw.. A good start for them and they should continue it today, they have looked good in the league and will be out for 3 points after their recent exit from both domestic cups.
Jaro is a good place for them to visit today and take points, they have a good record in this Ostrobothnias derby and are in good form.. Jaro, on the other hand, lost 5 consecutive league game prior to their recent draw... Still without a win in months... They've been SO bad defensively too, conceding a stupid amount of goals in this time.
SJK did great last season and surprised everyone.. now this season they have made some great additions to their squad and look an even bigger threat to the league.
They have signed Atajic, quality attacker who's spent time at Celtic and Shrewsbury. They also signed forward Ngueukam, from Laihti.. as well as quality midfielder, Vasara, from Honka.
On top of these additions they kept both their best strikers - Pelvas & Toni Lehtinen.. both who reached the top scorers tally last season. Their squad has some further defensive signings too... They have a quality roster for this season.
On the other hand, Jaro lost a fair few players over the transfer window.
This includes some key players like Winchester (forward 31/9 last season), Fondacaro (defence 28/3 last season) & Svanbäck (midfield 29/0 last last season). They haven't brought any real quality in as replacements and have 3 further players missing today due to injury: Kullström (defence), Dixon (midfield) & Larsson (attack).
All things considered I think this is BIG value in SJK to win this game today.. They have looked brilliant in recent months and have now strengthened their squad further.. Their last 15 games (all competitions) have ended in 11 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss.
Jaro, however, have been struggling to attain decent results and performances for a while now.. Their have looked even weaker so far this season since losing so many usual starters.. They also looked very poor in their debut 1-1 league game, against a substantially weaker side than SJK.
