Tampa Bay vs Boston by Sors

Tampa-Bay
VS
Boston
Chris Archer (2-1 with a 1.37 ERA) has been outstanding in his last two starts against the Marlins on April 11 and the Toronto Blue Jays last Thursday, as the right-hander yielded only 3 hits over fourteen scoreless innings in those two games, with sixteen strikeouts.

At the same time, Boston is among the most undesirable opponents for Archer, who posted a 6.03 ERA in his previous seven starts against the Red Sox, allowing 16 hits and 11 runs (ten earned), with four walks over ten innings in the last two of them.

The Red Sox will send to the mound Wade Miley (0-1 with a 10.57 ERA), who had problems in his last start versus the Nationals, allowing 5 hits and 7 runs over 2 ½ innings on April 15 (5-10).

On the other hand, Miley pitched well in his previous two starts versus the Rays, in which he surrendered 7 hits and 1 run over 13 1/3 innings, with thirteen strikeouts.

Logan Forsythe is 3-for-8, with a homer and 3 RBI against him, Rene Rivera is 3-for-6, with 2 RBI, but Evan Longoria, David DeJesus, Asdrubal Cabrera and Desmond Jennings have a combined 2-for-21.

The Rays were limited to three or fewer runs in seven of their previous thirteen games this season and have .226 BA, with 51 runs and 13 HR.

The Red Sox scored 70 runs in thirteen games so far this season (.239 BA, 13 HR) and at least five runs in eight of them.

I think that Boston will manage to win the opening game of this series.
