Western Sydney Wanderers are in third position with five points in Group H in the AFC Champions League. They have played four matches in their group, won only once, drew twice and lost once. Their performances have been average in recent games but it was mainly because they were missing lots of players through injuries. However, some of them will return and they will be at almost full strength. Captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley (19/0), Cole (12/0 d) and Rukavytsya (22/3 f) are all back in the squad. The only absentees are substitute players Santalab (6/2 f), Ward (1/0 f) and Mebrahtu (0/0 f).

Kashima Antlers have rediscovered their form as they are undefeated in their last five games in all competitions. They have surprisingly defeated group favorite Guangzhou Evergrande and thus secured their first win in this group after four rounds played. Nevertheless, they are still at the bottom of the group with only three points. There are no important players missing in the squad.

This is a must win game for both teams as only a win can give them maximum chance to reach the second place and secure their ticket to the next round. Kashima Antlers will find it difficult to defeat Western Sydney Wanderers as the latter have many tall and physical players and this causes many problems to the Japanese. Besides, Western Sydney Wanders will have home advantage and they are also more accustomed to the prevailing weather conditions. In this context, the hosts will not lose in my opinion.
