Minnesota vs Kansas by Sors

The Twins won 3-1 yesterday and now have a chance to win their first series in 2015, but it will be very difficult task actually, given the fact that Minnesota’s offensive struggles continue, as the hosts were limited to three or fewer runs in six of their previous eight games this season and have .198 BA, with only 19 runs and 3 HR in this period.

The Royals scored at least four runs in seven of their previous eight games in 2015 and have .322 BA, with 53 runs and 10 HR so far this season.

And something very interesting…the Royals hit a little better during day games (. 333 BA, 35 runs and 5 HR) than during night games (.310 BA, 18 runs and 5 HR).

Tommy Milone (1-0 with a 0.00 ERA), who will start for the Twins, pitched well in his first start this season, as the left-hander yielded only 2 hits over 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the White Sox last Friday, with seven strikeouts.

On the other hand, Milone had obvious problems in his previous two starts against the Royals, as he has allowed 13 hits and 11 runs (nine earned) with four walks over 6 2/3 innings in those two games.

Jason Vargas (1-0 with a 3.00 ERA), who takes the mound for Kansas City, is 3-2 with a 3.12 ERA in his last eight starts versus the Twins, but 3-0 with a 0.92 ERA in four starts in 2014, allowing 1 run on 8 hits while striking out eight over fourteen innings in the last two of them.

I think that the Kansas City Royals will win today.
