New York Mets vs P. Phillies by Sors

New-York-Mets
VS
P.-Phillies
The Mets (.210 BA) won half of their previous six games this season, but recorded three or fewer runs in four of those six games and went 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position against the Braves yesterday.

New York will face Aaron Harang, who showed good form in his first start of the season, allowing only 2 hits over 6 1/3 scoreless innings versus the Red Sox on Wednesday (4-2), with eight strikeouts.

Harang is 3-2 with a 2.05 ERA in his last five starts versus the Mets, but the right-hander gave up 4 hits and 1 run over fourteen innings in two starts at Citi Field in 2014.David Wright is 12-for-28, with a homer, 8 RBI and six walks against him, but Lucas Duda is 2-for-16, with a homer, 2 RBI and 5 walks, while Travis d’Arnaud is 1-for-7 with a walk.

Philadelphia continues to struggle in offense, as the Phillies have recorded only 43 hits and 16 runs in the previous six games this season (.214 BA) and were limited to three or fewer runs in half of them.

Jacob deGrom, who will start for the Mets, pitched well in his first start this season, as the right-hander gave up 6 hits and 2 runs over six innings against the Nationals last Wednesday (1-2), with six strikeouts.

deGrom is 1-0 with a 2.03 ERA in two starts versus the Phillies so far in his career, allowing only 4 hits and one run over seven innings while striking out five and walking two batters in the last of them on Aug. 29, 2014 (4-1).Cody Asche is 1-for-2, with 1 RBI and a walk against him, but Carlos Ruiz, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Grady Sizemore are a combined 3-for-13.

I expect less than seven runs in the opening game of this series between the New York Mets and the Phillies.
