This is an important match for Rangers with the season coming to an end. Finishing in 2nd place would mean they avoid playing a maximum of 3 play-off games to reach the Premiership. Instead, 2nd place will only play a maximum of 2 games as 3rd & 4th play each other first with the winner playing 2nd place. The winner of this match then face 2nd bottom of the Premiership for the Premiership place next season.
Rangers have been decent at home with only 1 loss since September, a 2-0 defeat to Hibernian. Their fortunes overall have improved since Stuart McCall took over as manager with the defeat to QoS being his first as Rangers manager.
Lee McCulloch is still banned but goalkeeper Cammy Bell could return. Dean Sheils was rested against QoS so he may play a part at some point.
Raith have nothing to play for now. They will finish in 6 place this season regardless so they may not be as motivated as Rangers today. They also come into this match on the back of 2 defeats against Falkirk and Cowdenbeath so are not exactly hitting top form at the moment.
Raith will be without regular midfielder Liam Fox through injury and regular goalkeeper McGurn may return.
