W. Nationals vs New York Mets by Sors

The Nationals tied the series with a 2-1 win yesterday, but their problems in offense are obvious: 10 hits and 3 runs in the previous two games and 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position on Wednesday.

Anthony Rendon (.287 AVG in 2014), Denard Span (.302 AVG) and Jayson Werth (.292 AVG) will miss that game, in which the Mets will send to mound Matt Harvey.

Harvey, who will make his first start for the Mets since Aug. 24 2013, showed good form during spring training, as the right-hander went 1-1 with a 1.19 ERA in six starts. He is 1-1 with a 1.00 ERA in four starts versus Washington so far in his career, allowing 12 hits and 3 runs over twenty two innings in the last three in 2013, with 25 strikeouts and 4 walks.

The Nationals gives the ball to Stephen Strasbourg (14-11 with a 3.14 ERA in 2014), who went 3-1 with a 1.97 ERA in five starts versus the Mets over the last three years, but yielded 13 hits and 9 runs over nineteen innings in the last three of them, with six walks and 24 strikeouts.

John Mayberry Jr. is 2-for-5, with a homer and 2 BRI against Starsbourg, Lucas Duda is 1-for-6, with home run and 2 RBI, while Daniel Murphy is 3-for-10 with two walks.

I think that the Mets will win their first series on this ballpark since September 2013.
