Linette vs E. Kulichkova by Tennisguy

This is a last round qualif. match from the Katowice(indoors) WTA tournament between Magda Linette from Poland and Elizaveta Kulichkova from Russia.

They have met 2 times and both those meeting where won by Kulichkova. That being said I think this will be a much different match than the ones before because not only will Linette play in her home country and have the crowd support but she will also face an opponent that clearly is not in the best physical condition.

The reason I believe that Kulichkova is not in a very good physical condition is because she 4 days ago from a match she had at the Croissy-Beaubourg ITF and to me from the way she performed in her 2 previous qualif. matches it was pretty clear she is off her game. In those other 2 qualif. matches she won against Joanna Zawadzka 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 and Nadiya Kichenok 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-3. She lost a set to Zawadzka who was playing her first professional tennis match ever and than in the next round again she lost a set to Kichenok ,a player that hasn't performed very well this year and has a record of 4-7.

Linette played only one qualif. match and she defeated Lyudmyla Kichenok 6-1, 4-0(her opponent retired at this score). I think she will be much more rested considering she didn't even have to play an entire match compared to Kulichkova who not only had to play two but they where also 3 setters both.

There are just to many things going in Linette's favor here so I am very confident that she will get the win in this

It was a bit of a strange match. I taught Linette will close it in 2 sets when she had 5-3 in the decisive but it didn't happen and after that she was behind in the decisive. Either way a win is a win so I'm glad she won :).

"when she had 5-3 in the second set" I meant... sorry
