Roger-Vasselin vs Jasika by Tennisguy

This is a quarterfinal match from the Le Gosier challenger between Edouard Roger-Vasselin from France and Omar Jasika from Australia.

They have never faced each other in a h2h match before.

Jasika has a record of 17-8 on hard this year and has managed some good wins against players like Bedene, Chung, Ebden, Smith. He looked very sharp in this tournament and has managed to produce some of his best tennis so I think he has a very good chance of winning today. In this tournament he played the qualif. round and after getting to the main draw he defeated Chung 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 and Trungelliti 6-4, 6-4. Jasika is a left handed player and I think that will be a good advantage for him in this match.

Roger-Vasselin defeated Marie 7-6(5), 6-1 in the first round and then Baghdatis 6-2, 6-2. The Baghdatis win might seem impressive but his opponent was really in a bad shape and not only did he commit a huge amount of unforced errors but his serve was miserable to say the least.

I think this can easily be a very tight match that will probably have 1 in not 2 tiebreaks in it and for that reason I have to go with Jasika because of the huge value. Jasika to me just looks very fresh and motivated at the moment and I think if he doesn't get to emotional during the match he can produce a big upset
